While several opposition parties under the Bongo regime and the association sought to establish an independent body, the “Inclusive National Dialogue” decided to entrust the organization of the elections to the Ministry of the Interior.. This again becomes the “GO” (editor’s note: Gentil Organisseur) of election meetings

This was confirmed by a press release from the Committee on Transition and Institutional Renewal (CTRI) read on television last Saturday.

“In accordance with the conclusions of the Inclusive National Dialogue, the organization of the elections will now be ensured by the Ministry of the Interior; In any case, the process will be surrounded by all guarantees of transparency, freedom and participation,” said CTRI spokesman Colonel Ulrich Manfoumbi Manfoumbi.

Dissolve all the bodies that ran the election under Bong

According to the transitional authorities, the resolution to re-entrust the organization of the elections to the Ministry of the Interior is part of the will of the Gabonese people, who in their proposals served as the basis for drawing up the conclusions of the Inclusive National Dialogue supported a return to this model. They also expressed the wish to dissolve all the bodies that managed the elections under Bongo, bodies considered biased and that systematically manipulated votes in favor of the ousted regime in August 2023.
