Energy audit: good news confirmed if you haven’t received it in 2024

Bercy has just announced the opening date of the portal dedicated to low-income households that have not yet received an energy audit in 2024. Eligible households will be able to apply for this help from July and receive it a month later at most.

Something promised, something due. Households wrongfully deprived of energy control will be able to receive compensation. Last February, Minister of Economy and Finance Bruno Le Maire recognized a “charlatan” in the payment of this support reserved for the most modest households, while simplified complaint window» would be introduced. This portal, which was originally planned to open in May, will finally be operational “during the month of July”clarifies the Bercy press release published this Monday, May 6.

As a reminder, energy control – from an amount between 48 and 277 euros – benefits the lowest 20% of households. That is, those whose reference tax income (RFR) – year N-2 – is less than 11,000 euros per consumption unit. However, if the tax administration has so far been based on the declaration of household income and theirs housing tax to determine their eligibility for support, the complete abolition of this local tax on the main residence from 1 January 2023 caused technical difficulties for the tax authorities.

Therefore, it is not possible to identify automatically new recipients of energy control eligible based on their 2022 RFR. “This concerns, for example, young people entering working life (first employees), households that have experienced and decrease in revenue from 2021 to 2022 or households born in 2022″explains Bercy.

Sending the energy audit to affected households is not automatic this year, so it will be up to them to request it on the spot. They must provide their tax number (available on your most recent tax return or tax notice), proof of identity and a utility bill in their name by December. If your file meets the acceptance criteria, you will receive your help within one month to the maximum. This period will be extended to two months if you submit your application by post accompanied by a service advisor in France.
