Tesla will present its Cybertruck in France: where to go and when to discover it?

Since its introduction in November 2019, the Cybertruck continues to fascinate, as well as raise shields from lovers of more classic lines. It has to be said that this pickup truck is unlike any other vehicle that has ever been put on the road – except for the 1981 DeLorean, to some extent, for its steel body.

But the similarity basically ends there. In fact, the Cybertruck’s lines, all at angles, are quite unique. This design is less about aerodynamics and more about reducing manufacturing costs. This special steel, also used in Starship rockets, also serves as a metal frame, which greatly reduces the complexity of assembly.

Where and when to see the Cybertruck in France as part of the Cyber Odyssey?

The absence of rounded shapes also facilitates the automation of part of the production. Despite everything, Tesla signs a design with a lot of personality with these specifications. In addition, the Cybertruck is equipped with a large ashtray with electrical sockets for recharging, for example, an electric motorcycle – and a number of accessories that make it quite practical for professional use.

Pickups are almost a mandatory step for American manufacturers. However, this type of vehicle is less likely to sell well in Europe, and particularly in France. And for good reason: it has rather massive dimensions, making it impractical in the city, and its weight of more than 3 tons exposes it to surcharges, and its price, less attractive than originally announced, makes it a rather premium vehicle that will not, a priori be eligible for subsidies such as the environmental bonus.

Especially since it is currently only manufactured at the Gigafactory in Austin (Texas), so it is de facto “assembled outside the European Union”. As a result, Tesla has been rather tight-lipped about its possible launch date on the old continent until now. To the extent that one could wonder if the vehicle will one day be driven on French roads.

However, while the brand hasn’t announced anything new about a hypothetical marketing plan in France, Cybertrucks could be launching near you in a few weeks. Indeed, Tesla has announced a vehicle “tour” of Europe called Cyber Odyssey. The tour starts this week and ends on July 7, 2024.

Outside of Europe, Cyber Odyssey will allow the vehicle to be introduced in several nearby countries, such as the United Arab Emirates. The complete list of cities that the Cybertruck will pass through is available here.

As for France, Cybertruck will be in Paris from May 22 to 25, 2024 as part of the Vivatech show. As part of the national tour, it will also be possible to see it in other places and cities in France:
